Welcome to our "Vets Only" section.

As part of our passion for professional development and commitment to the scientific community, we offer this section for veterinary professionals only.

Veterinary Specialist Services understands how important continual education is within all levels of the veterinary industry in order to maintain a high level of service to the general public and their pets.

As knowledge is one of the most powerful tools in today's world, Veterinary Specialist Services offers a range of continual education opportunities including evening Seminars, Internships, Journal Clubs, Newsletters and region veterinary trips.

CONTINUAL EDUCATION

Veterinary Specialist Services has Journal Clubs for both Medicine and Surgery Departments in order to remain up to date with current research and scientific literature.

Medicine Journal Club occurs every fortnight at the Brisbane Hospital. One veterinarian reviews 2-3 current medical articles, followed by a discussion on the findings.

Surgery Journal Club is held monthly at the Brisbane Hospital. Several veterinarians will review 2-4 current surgical articles, followed by a discussion on the findings.

If you are interested to attend our Journal Clubs, please

email us for further details.

SEMINARS

In order to provide appropriate continual education opportunities bor both Veterinarians and their nurses, Veterinary Specialist Services holds seminars in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Seminar Flyers will be emailed and faxed to clinics several weeks prior to the event, detailing the topics to be covered. All veterinarians wishing to attend these seminars must RSVP as there is a limit to spaces availalbe, and for catering purposes.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

INTERNSHIPS
Veterinary Specialist Services rotating internship has been designed to maximise the educational process through practical exposure to a large volume of cases in all specialty areas while concurrently delivering learning opportunities to improve scientific knowledge and understanding.

Although veterinarians undertaking an internship may be interested in specialising within a specific area, the key benefit of a rotating program is to create a well-rounded veterinarian, capable of understanding all facets of specialty practice. Participation in clinical rounds, medical and surgical journal clubs, presentation at seminars and the preparation of a paper for publication is expected of each intern.

Interviews are conducted in September, with the internship program commencing in February the following year. For any further enquiries on this program, please

email us.
