Veterinary Specialist Services is a group of private, independent referral hospitals, dedicated to providing the best possible care to our patients, clients and referring veterinarians. Established in 2000, VSS now has three, fully equipped hospitals located at Underwood, Jindalee and Carrara. We are involved in the industry with wide participation in professional groups, universities and continuing education courses. We also facilitate our own Annual Conference.

We are offering a 12-month Vet Tech Internship commencing in January 2024.
The successful Vet Tech graduates will rotate through the specific fields of Surgery and Internal Medicine. These are fulltime training positions which will create the opportunity for the Intern to gain real life experience, to enhance and hone their skills and knowledge and to further their careers in Veterinary Nursing.
Our learning program includes, but is not limited to, urinary catheter care, blood collection, clinical pathology, nutrition, restraining techniques, surgical patient preparation, surgical anaesthesia. Medical procedures such as MRI (UW only), advanced radiology, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, endoscopy and CT.
All of this and more is delivered in our purpose built facilities, in a fully supported environment by our most senior nurses and experienced Veterinary Specialists, with a focus on Gold standard excellence in nursing and patient care.

Who you are:
Vet Tech Graduates with a genuine interest in Small Animal clinical practice are invited to apply. Applicants should possess a degree in Veterinary Technology registrable in Queensland.
A team player with a strong work ethic willing to support and learn from your fellow colleagues.
Have a high attention to detail.
Remuneration
Remuneration is in accordance with the Animal Care and Veterinary Services Award. A 38-hour working week and 20 days annual leave are on a fixed term 12 month offer.
