Specialist Small Animal Surgeon

Tania graduated from the University of Queensland (UQ) in 1997, and worked in small animal general practice for 18 months before beginning an internship and then surgical residency at the UQ Veterinary Teaching Hospital.While at UQ she obtained her membership in small animal surgery. This was followed by completion of her residency training program at Veterinary Specialist Services at Underwood.

Tania has since worked in various private and university referral hospitals in England and Australia, and passed her Fellowship exams in Small Animal Surgery in 2005. She has also spent time in as a clinical academic and as a lecturer, and completed a teaching qualification (graduate certificate in higher education) and taught both veterinary technology and veterinary students. Tania was awarded the Golden Speculum award for best lecturer by the 4th year students on 2 occasions during her time at UQ. 

A PhD in tissue engineering at the Australian Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology then followed in 2017. Tania has been an examiner and head subject examiner for the Fellowship (Specialist) examination in Small Animal Surgery for the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists on several occasions.

Tania enjoys a broad case load and all aspects of small animal surgery, with a particular interest in soft tissue and oncology surgery.
