Gemma graduated from UQ Gatton 2017 with Hons. and did her final research review project on the use of intralipids in permethrin toxicosis in cats. Gemma developed an interest for the challenges of medicine during her rotating internship and fostered this through a senior medicine internship the following year working alongside Dr Peter Barron at Veterinary Specialist Services. Gemma enjoys the overlaps of diagnostic imaging with medicine, particularly ultrasound applications.
Gemma completed her Residency training program at the Underwood hospital and enjoys performing endoscopic procedures. She prioritizes listening to owner's concerns combined with careful examination of their pets to determine an individualized diagnostic and treatment plan.
At home she is outnumbered by three tuxedo cats with varied personalities, and enjoys painting, video games and axe throwing.
