DR BRIAN SHEN

Dr Brian Shen is a veterinary dermatology registrar with Animal Dermatology Specialist, providing dermatology care for dogs and cats across South East Queensland. He has more than five years of dedicated dermatology experience and has completed both an 18 month veterinary dermatology internship and a formal three year veterinary dermatology residency accredited by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD). He is now preparing for his final ACVD board examinations, the final step toward becoming a board certified veterinary dermatologist.

Brian completed his BVSc (Hons) at the University of Queensland in 2019. His interest in dermatology began during a final year clinical placement within a specialist referral dermatology service, where he saw how chronic skin and ear disease can affect not only a patient’s quality of life, but also the wellbeing of the owner and family.

Through Animal Dermatology Specialist, Dr Brian supports dogs and cats with skin, ear and allergy concerns that are often ongoing, recurrent or difficult to fully resolve. He enjoys all aspects of dermatology, with particular interest in allergic skin disease, ear disease and the use of video otoscopy. Brian is passionate about client education and helping referring veterinarians feel more confident managing dermatological cases in everyday practice.
