Dr Candis Sutherland

Candis grew up in New Zealand and developed an interest in veterinary medicine while farming in her twenties. Working closely with animals during this time sparked her passion for animal health and welfare and ultimately led her to pursue a career as a veterinarian.

After completing her veterinary degree at The University of Queensland in Australia, Candis developed a strong interest in emergency medicine. She enjoys the fast-paced and varied nature of emergency practice, as well as the challenge of stabilising and managing critically ill patients. Candis particularly values the teamwork involved in emergency and critical care and the opportunity to support both patients and their owners during stressful situations.

She completed her Graduate certificate in Small Animal Emergency Critical care in 202
Outside of work, Candis spends most of her spare time with her husband and two young boys, camping and exploring the outdoors together. She also enjoys going to the gym, taking time to recharge with the occasional massage, and spending time with friends and family.
