What Happens When You Arrive at VSS Carrara?

Immediate Triage at Reception

Upon arrival at our Gold Coast hospital, our team assesses your pet immediately to prioritise urgent care. Life-threatening cases are seen instantly, while all other patients are seen as quickly as possible.

Examination and Diagnostics

A veterinarian will examine your dog or cat and may recommend on-site imaging or testing. If your pet requires input from our Gold Coast specialist teams, this happens seamlessly in-house.

Collaborative Treatment Plan

We will explain all diagnostic findings and test results, outline potential costs, and begin treatment. If hospitalisation, emergency surgery, or specialist care is required at our Carrara facility, we organise this promptly.

Communication with Your Family Vet

We keep your local Gold Coast GP vet informed at all times to ensure total continuity of care once your pet is discharged.

We work closely with your family veterinarian, providing them with consistent updates to ensure a smooth transition back to their regular care. Should your pet require further monitoring or specialist treatment, we will discuss all available options with you and coordinate that transition internally within the VSS network; if required, we can also admit your pet for extended treatment and 24/7 monitoring in our intensive care unit.
